What is the right SSC CHSL 2019 EXAM PATTERN to prepare for SSC CHSL EXAM?

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the recruitment drive for SSC CHSL 2019 exam. This recruitment drive will be held through three competitive exams namely Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III. The recruitment drive is conducted to recruit candidates for the selection of posts of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) Postal Assistant (PA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO).

According to official notifications for SSC CHSL 2019 exam by SSC, the important dates are:-

Exam Date of Computer Based Examination (Tier-I): 01-07-2019 to 26-07-2019

Exam Date of Tier-II Examination (Descriptive Paper): 29.09.2019

Every year, it is estimated that around 20 million candidates appear and compete for SSC CHSL. Therefore, to crack this exam, it is important for aspirants to understand the exam pattern. The exam pattern and syllabus of SSC CHSL is based on 10+2 level curriculum of recognized boards of India but the difficulty levels of asked questions are very high. Now, let us discuss exam pattern of Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III exam.

 

SSC CHSL Tier-I Exam Pattern

Tier-I exam will comprise of objective type questions and will be held online.  The four sections of SSC CHSL Tier-I exam are: - General Intelligence (25 questions, 50 marks), English Comprehension (25 questions, 50 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (25 questions, 50 marks), and General Awareness (25 questions, 50 marks). The duration of exam will be one hour (60 minutes). The candidates have to solve 100 questions (each question will carry 2 marks) in 60 minutes (1 hour).

 

SSC CHSL Tier-II Exam Pattern

Tier-II exam will be a descriptive paper and will be held in Hindi or English language. The duration of Tier-II exam will be of one hour (60 minutes) and will carry 200 marks. In this exam, the candidates will be required to write Essay (220-250 word count) and Letter/Application (150-200 word count). The minimum qualifying mark assigned by SSC for Tier-II exam will be 33%. Unlike Tier-I exam (objective type exam), this exam will be conducted in Pen and Paper Mode. The prime objective of Tier-II exam is to assess the writing skills of the candidates. The candidates who are VH/OH (afflicted by Cerebral Palsy) and OH with a deformity in writing hand will be allowed 35 minutes that also includes compensatory time 20 minutes for the skill test through SSC CHSL Coaching Institute in Durgapur.

 

SSC CHSL Tier-III Exam Pattern

The eligibility to appear in Tier-III exam will depend on the total score obtained by the candidates in Tier-I and Tier-II exams. Tier-III exam will be a Skill Test and Typing Test for the candidates. The typing test will be conducted for the candidates who have applied for the post of Data Entry Operator (DEO). The appearing candidates will have to qualify Tier-III exam at the prescribed typing speed on the Computer, provided by SSC at the prescribed examination centre.

If a candidate has opted for English language for typing test then he is required to maintain a speed of 35 words per minute and effective tactics through SSC CHSL Syllabus. If a candidate has opted for Hindi language then he is required to maintain a speed of 30 words per minute. The typing test will be applicable for the candidates who have applied for the post of Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, LDC, and Court Clerk posts.

The Skill Test will be held for the candidates who have applied for the post of Data Entry Operator. In Skill test, the candidates are required to have Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on the computer.

Latest Syllabus and Exam Pattern for SSC MTS 2019 exam

Every year, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts a common recruitment test for the post of Multi Tasking Staff (MTS). This competitive exam is conducted for the post of General Central Service Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in numerous Central Government Departments/ Ministries/ Offices, in several States and Union Territories.

SSC MTS 2019 exam will comprise of two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The first paper (Paper 1) will be objective type test. There will be four parts in Paper-I having 100 Questions of 100 marks. The total time duration for Paper-1 will be 1.5 hours (90 Minutes) and 2 hours (120 minutes) for visually handicapped candidate. For every wrong answer, there will be negative marking and 0.25 marks will be deducted. The question paper will be in two languages- English and Hindi.

The second paper (Paper 2) will be descriptive type of paper. The candidates will be required to write short essay/letter in English or any language which is included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution. The interested aspirants can apply in online mode only and the last date of submission of application form is April 4, 2019. In SSC CHSL 2019 exam, General Awareness section is the most scoring section and is one section that plays important role in almost every competitive exam. This section carries 50 marks and has 25 questions where each question carries 2 marks. How to prepare General Intelligence & Reasoning Section for SSC CHSL Tier-I exam

After recently released notification by SSC on the syllabus of SSC CHSL 2019 exam, it is observed that the section of General Intelligence & Reasoning Section constitutes 25% of the total score in Tier-I exam. This section carries 25 multiple choice questions and will be of 50 marks. Each question will carry 2 marks and 0.50 marks will be deducted as penalty for every wrong answer. This section can be broadly divided into sections- Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning sections.

The Verbal Reasoning section carries more significance as around 66% of questions are asked from it. The topics of Verbal Reasoning are Series, Ranks, Direction, Arrangement, Coding, Decoding, Analogy and Classification/Odd Pair, Syllogism and Statement Conclusion.
